§ The Minister of Agriculture (Mr. Thomas Williams)Yes, Sir; I am aware that a number of houses are held on requisition for use as hostels for agricultural workers, including the Women's Land Army. Houses are released whenever this is consistent with my duty to ensure maximum food production. Provision of permanent accommodation is not practicable or desirable in present circumstances.
