I am well aware of the generous action of people in New Zealand in voluntarily surrendering food coupons and thus increasing the exportable surplus which can be made available to this country. I am happy to take this opportunity of again expressing publicly on behalf of the Government and the people of this country our deep sense of gratitude for these generous acts, in New Zealand and in other Dominions, as well as for the continuing supply of gifts of food both in bulk and in individual parcels.
