§ 20. Mr. George Jegerasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the shortage of shirts and scarves for Boy Scouts; and whether material can be diverted from army purposes to help alleviate the situation.
§ Sir S. CrippsI am afraid that these difficulties are no greater than in other cases. It is impossible to make any special arrangements for diversion of surpluses to meet this case, but such surpluses as do arise are distributed through the normal channels of trade, and manufacturers of Boy Scouts shirts and scarves can purchase such surplus material.
