§ Mr. EdeI beg to move, in page 6, line 26, to leave out from "incurred," to" as," in line 27, and to insert:
in connection with the provision of fire services.1375 Clause 5 (2, d) deals with the transfer of liabilities to a combined authority formed after the appointed day. As the Clause stands, it will be possible to transfer liabilities incurred under the Bill, but not any continuing liabilities that may have been incurred by the 1938 Act. This Amendment is necessary to enable liabilities such as these to be transferred to the new fire authority.
