The Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade (Mr. Belcher)

I beg to move, in page 5, line 44, after "members," to insert: having the right to vote at the meeting. I hope this Amendment will commend itself to hon. Members on all sides. As the Clause stands, members of a company not having the right to vote at that meeting may nevertheless be entitled to demand a poll. For example, preference shareholders might do this at a meeting at which only ordinary members were entitled to vote.
