§ Mr. A. HendersonEuropean officers of the Indian railway service who were appointed by the Secretary of State are covered by the compensation scheme announced by the Prime Minister on 30th April. As regards those European officers who were appointed by the Governor-General in Council, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Orpington (Sir W. Smithers) on 23rd June.
