HC Deb 07 July 1947 vol 439 c1808
Mr. Pickthorn

Mr. Speaker, may I respectfully inquire whether you are now ready to give your ruling on the question whether the extreme urgency rule applies to reports of the Committee of Privileges as well as to actual cases of Privilege?

Mr. Speaker

I am sorry to say that I am not yet in a position to give a definite Ruling on that matter. I have been looking into it over the week-end, but there are complications. I should prefer to wait a little bit, until I can give a considered opinion, which I hope will be fairly soon, rather than to give a somewhat hurried statement now. Perhaps the hon. Gentleman will wait, and if I notify him that I am ready perhaps he will ask his question again.

Mr. Pickthorn

Thank you, Sir.
