HC Deb 01 July 1947 vol 439 c1146
63. Mr. Prescott

asked the President of the Board of Trade what reduction has been effected in the allocation of timber for furniture making; and how many units or coupons for utility furniture it will consequently be impossible to honour.

Mr. Belcher

The amount of timber allocated for the production of utility furniture in the second period of 1947 was 45 per cent. of that in the corresponding period of 1946. This will not mean that any units will fail to be honoured, but it will tend to make the delivery period rather longer.
