asked the Minister of Food what are the various purposes served by the International Emergency Food Council.

Mr. Strachey

I am sending the hon. Member a copy of the document mentioned in the replies given to the hon. Member for Aberdeen and Kincardine. Central (Mr. Spence) on 27th January and to the hon. Member for Leominster (Mr. Baldwin) on 12th February.

Mr. Bossom

Does the Minister contend that all purchases have to be supervised by the Council, or can they do what they like, and, therefore, the Council has no purpose whatever?

Mr. Strachey

The Minister does not contend either of those contentions.
