25. Mr. Collins

asked the Minister of Food if he is aware that the retail price of imported Cornice pears is 1s. 6d. per lb and of other varieties 1s. 1d. per lb but that although considerable quantities of all varieties have been imported the greater majority of sales are at the higher price: and if he will investigate the matter with the object of preventing the victimisation of the consumer.

It my hon. Friend is suggesting that the Pears Order is being contravened and he will let me have particulars of any specific instances which have come to his notice, I will gladly have them investigated.
