HC Deb 10 February 1947 vol 433 c3
3. Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, in view of the fact that the insertion in the Peace Treaty with Italy of the Lateran Pacts of 1929 regulating relations between Church and State, jeopardises freedom of religion in that country, and in its effect, will conflict with other articles of the constitution asserting such freedom, he will seek to secure complete religious freedom for the people of Italy in accordance with the terms of the treaty.

Mr. McNeil

There is no reference to the Lateran Pacts in the Italian Peace Treaty.
