HC Deb 05 February 1947 vol 432 c1766
44. Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will arrange, in conjunction with our Allies, for a reconsideration of the decision to stop all pensions to former members of the German armed forces and to their widows and orphans.

Mr. J. Hynd

There has been no decision to stop all pensions to former members of the German armed forces and their widows and orphans. While Wehrmacht pensions as such have been discontinued, disability pensions have been assimilated into the normal system of social insurance; the question of assimilating long service pensions in cases of need is under consideration.
