§ 78. Colonel Ropnerasked the Minister of Food what is the present arrangement with regard to the payment of commission to U.S. meat importers in this country; 1388 on what basis the commission is arranged; and what has been the annual cost in each of the past five years.
§ Mr. StracheyU.S.A. meat importers receive no commission from the Ministry of Food on meat from the U.S.A.; but in so far as they are members of the association of prewar importers which handles imported meat on behalf of the Ministry, they receive their share of the total remuneration paid to the association on meat from all sources.
