asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will make a statement with reference to the elimination of undesirable persons from local government bodies now proceeding in Japan; and when it is anticipated that this process will be concluded.

Mr. Mayhew

According to the United States Chairman of the Allied Council for Japan, the process of eliminating undesirable persons from Japanese local government bodies is expected to be completed towards the middle of April next.
