HC Deb 03 February 1947 vol 432 cc1390-1
45. Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

asked the Prime Minister whether the general assurances given by him as to the procedure to be followed when land is acquired by, or permanently retained after temporary wartime use by, the Service Departments cover the case of such land used by the Air Ministry for airfields or radar stations, or by the Ministry of Supply as bomb-testing grounds.

The Prime Minister (Mr. Attlee)

The assurances referred to extend to the land requirements of the two Departments named, but are necessarily subject to security considerations which would arise in regard to the particular forms of user mentioned in the Question.

Viscount Hinchingbrooke

Can the right hon. Gentleman say when the report of the committee on the use of land for military purposes, under the Ministry of Town and Country Planning, in which he himself has taken a great personal interest, will be published?

The Prime Minister

Before long.
