asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will announce the details of proposed forestry development for the North-East of England.

The Forestry Commissioners' planting programme in the North-Eastern Conservancy of England for the current planting season is 3,566 acres. Acquisition of suitable land for afforestation purposes is being pursued vigorously, not only in the North-East but throughout the country.

Can the Minister tell us how small an area the Forestry Commissioners will consider in the North-East for acquisition?
