§ 26. Dr. Segalasked the Secretary of State for War whether any accommodation for British troops is available in the Crater at Aden; and whether he now proposes to arrange for any units to be stationed there.
§ Mr. ShinwellSo far as I am aware, there is no accommodation suitable for British troops in the area referred to. The situation at Aden is being kept under constant review by the Commander-in-Chief, Middle East Land Forces, who will make whatever dispositions are necessary.
§ Dr. SegalDoes the right hon. Gentleman feel reasonably assured that we have forces in Aden adequately disposed to cope with any further disturbances?
§ Mr. ShinwellI would not care to answer that question.
§ Mr. GallacherIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that, whatever may be the position at the Crater, there are a number of "Craters" in Scotland which do not want the Army at all?
