HC Deb 11 December 1947 vol 445 c1188
48. Brigadier Rayner

asked the Minister of Labour why he refuses to meet any deputation of trade unionists unless they represent unions affiliated to the T.U.C.

Mr. Ness Edwards

The hon. and gallant Member appears to be misinformed.

Brigadier Rayner

Is it not a fact that, as reported by the executive council of the Federation of Independent Trades Unions, the Minister laid it down that all questions on trade unionism must be dealt with through the T.U.C.?

Mr. Ness Edwards

I was asked whether political affiliations had anything to do with meeting deputations. N.A.L.G.O. was met recently.
