HC Deb 11 December 1947 vol 445 c1197
67. Mr. Sharp

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what proportion of the films produced for the Central Office of Information are being made by the Crown Film Unit; and whether the Estimates proposal to spend nearly three times as much on the productions of film contractors is being carried out.

Mr. Glenvil Hall

In terms of cost, 28 per cent. of the film production for the Central Office of Information during the current financial year is being undertaken by the Crown Film Unit, 65 per cent. by contractors and 7 per cent. by the Colonial Film Unit. The proportions provided for in the Estimate were 38 per cent., 54 per cent. and 8 per cent. respectively.
