HC Deb 11 December 1947 vol 445 cc1167-8
23. Mr. Eccles

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been drawn to the period of almost three years already spent in obtaining the necessary consents from Government Departments to the Calne and Chippenham Rural District Council's housing scheme for Box; and what action he will take to speed up this scheme.

Mr. Bevan

Yes, Sir. A series of problems arose about the site selected by the Council, which was awkwardly situated and involved difficulties of access, complications in regard to the Restriction of Ribbon Development Act, layout and the negotiation of easements with the owners of adjoining lands. The necessary approvals have been given.
