Resolved: That, for the purposes of any Act of the present session to make provision as to the application and modification of enactments in relation to mandates of the League of Nations and the trusteeship system of the United Nations, it is expedient to authorise the imposition of any charge on the people which may result from any provision made by the said Act—

  1. (a) as to the manner in which enactments are to apply, or may be modified, where a territory becomes a trust territory, or a change in the authority responsible for administering a trust territory takes place on its becoming a trust territory or while it is a trust territory; or
  2. (b) as to the effect, since the termination of the League of Nations, of references in enactments to mandated territories; including any provision made as aforesaid with retrospective effect from any date not earlier than that of the termination of the League of Nations."—[Mr. Rees-Williams.]
