HC Deb 01 December 1947 vol 445 cc14-5
23. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what secret treaties were negotiated during the war; and if they will now be published.

Mr. Mayhew

All wartime treaties and agreements concluded by His Majesty's Government have now been published except those which were of a military nature or were designed to facilitate the prosecution of the war and which are now either inoperative or of no public interest.

Mr. Hughes

In view of the difference of opinion that may exist about whether they will be of public interest, will the Minister reconsider that decision?

Mr. Mayhew

If the hon. Member has any specific instances in mind, perhaps he will let me know.
