§ 70. Mr. Doddsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he has any 1468 further information from the inquiries he is making into the arrest of Pandelis Gousides.
§ Mr. BevinI regret that the local British authorities have not yet been able to furnish me with fully authenticated information on the specific points put to me by my hon. Friend.
§ Mr. DoddsIs my right hon. Friend aware that I have reliable information that this gentleman has now been executed? If so, will he protest to the Greek Government at the execution of a man who did such excellent work for the Allied Forces during the war, in view of the farcical trial, the details of which I have supplied to my right hon. Friend?
§ Mr. BevinI really cannot enter into the details of every one of these cases. There are charges against this man, whether true or not, of taking part in a revolt against the Government, and working with bandits and so on. I pronounce no opinion, but I do not intend to take up every one of these cases
