§ 54. Mrs. Corbetasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will extend the scope of the regulation under which the marriage bar in the Civil Service was abolished as from 15th October, 1946, so as to include those women who married before that date and were obliged to resign but who continued their service without a break on a temporary basis, such reinstatement being subject to the return of the marriage gratuity.
