§ 64. Colonel Crosthwaite-Eyreasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will now state what steps have been taken by His Majesty's Government to prepare and submit counterclaims to countries holding sterling balances.
§ Mr. Glenvil HallI have nothing to add to the answer of my right hon. Friend on 11th March.
§ Colonel Crosthwaite-EyreCan the Financial Secretary say when the Government will make up their minds on this important matter? Is he aware that all negotiations so far show that other countries have declined to consider counterclaims whilst His Majesty's Government, accepting the right to make them, have done nothing to present or press them? Can the Financial Secretary say when we can expect a statement of policy?
