HC Deb 17 April 1947 vol 436 cc319-20
21. Commander Noble

asked the President of the Board of Trade why no cotton hosiery is being imported from Hong Kong; and whether he will arrange for token imports in order to help rehabilitate this industry.

Sir S. Cripps

No recent applications for licences to import cotton hosiery from Hong Kong have been received, nor has any request been received from the Colony to participate in the token import arrangements.

Commander Noble

If such requests were put forward, would they be favourably considered?

Sir S. Cripps

They would be considered, certainly.
