HC Deb 17 April 1947 vol 436 c325
32. Mr. Hurd

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power if, when imposing restrictions on the use of solid fuel for heating houses during the summer, he will instruct his local fuel overseers to have special regard for the needs of old people and those liable to suffer from attacks of malaria during damp weather.

Mr. Shinwell

Restrictions must in present circumstances be continued on the quantities of fuel which may be supplied to any premises but local fuel overseers have already power to deal with any cases of special need.
