37. Mr. William Ross

asked the Secretary of State for War in view of the fact that general demobilisation is a continuing process, to what date his Department intends to retain officers and men who have voluntarily deferred their release until general demobilisation.

Mr. Bellenger

It is intended to release all those who voluntarily deferred until general demobilisation during the latter half of 1948, so that no officer or man in this category is retained beyond 31st December of that year.
