HC Deb 31 October 1946 vol 428 c772
39. Dr. Santo Jeger

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware of the recent closing of a police station and the increase of hooliganism in the Camden Town area; and if he will take steps to ensure that a more adequate and rapid police protection is available. when necessary, for that area.

Mr. Ede

I am advised by the Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis that the vacation of the temporary station for this area in June last has not resulted in any reduction of police supervision for the area and adequate facilities exist for summoning extra police aid speedily if required. I am informed that whilst there is some hooliganism in the area, there is no evidence that it is on the increase.
