HC Deb 30 October 1946 vol 428 cc593-4
21. Mr. Skinnard

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that, since the closing down of the R.A.F. hospital at Singapore on 15th September, the nursing orderlies, together with 20 more who arrived on 19th September, have been misemployed as ACH/GD.s; and whether these men will be classed for release in their present trade or retarded five groups as nursing orderlies, as set out in the promulgation for the month of December.

Mr. de Freitas

The R.A.F. Hospital in Singapore has not been closed down but has recently been moved to another part of the island. During the change over some of the nursing orderlies have been employed on helping with the move.

These airmen will be released according to their mustered trade of nursing orderly, which in December will be up to the general level of release for ground trades.
