§ 38. Mr. Thomas Reidasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what progress has been made in the publication, by each Colony, of the comprehensive year books promised by his predecessor.
Mr. Creech JonesThe question of the future form and content of annual reports relating to Colonial territories has now been considered, and I intend shortly to address to Colonial Governments a despatch asking them to resume the issue 604 of these reports in a revised form which will, I hope, be found more informative, interesting and attractive than that previously in use.
§ Mr. ReidWill my right hon. Friend see that when these reports are published, the state of each Colony at the time the British took it over is given, so that a contrast can be made between the past and present?
Mr. Creech JonesIn most of the reports there will be some section dealing with the historical background. That point will be kept in mind.
