§ 53. Mr. Edward Daviesasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if, in view of the fact that the U.S. and British zones of Germany are now fused for economic purposes, the British Government are taking part in the loan for industrial development of Germany now being proposed by the U.S. Government.
§ Mr. J. HyndThe American proposals of which we have been informed are designed not for the industrial development of Germany in general, but to finance the import of certain raw material for specific export programmes. His Majesty's Government are not participating in this scheme, but it is open to us to make our own arrangements with the same object.
