§ 37. Mr. Collinsasked the Minister of Supply if he will state, in terms of bulk or value, the relative production of electrical components in the first six months of the years 1939, 1945 and 1946.
§ Mr. WilmotOwing to the wide range of electrical components, it is not possible to give bulk figures which would provide a reliable basis for comparison. It is, however, estimated that the production of electrical accessories for house-wiring represented 65 per cent, and 80 per cent, of prewar output for the first six months of 1945 and 1946, respectively.
§ Mr. CollinsCan my right hon. Friend say if, in view of the undoubted shortage of electrical components for new houses, proper steps are being taken to ensure priority of distribution of electrical components for new houses?
§ Mr. WilmotI think that very effective measures are now in operation for that purpose.
