§ 39. Mr. Dribergasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what representations have been made by His Majesty's Government to the Mexico Government with regard to the deportation from Mexico of German Nazis; and how many such deportations have been carried out.
§ Mr. BevinIn December last the Allied Control Council in Germany requested the Governments of the United Nations to expel all German officials and agents and other obnoxious Germans from their territories. On 15th August, 1946, a ship provided by the United States Government embarked 13 obnoxious Germans and 63 German seamen from Mexico for return to Germany. This is the only deportation from Mexico which has so far taken place.
§ Mr. DribergIs my right hon. Friend aware that large numbers of Germans have dodged deportation whose names were on the original United States list, and would he look further into this, and especially into the activities of Señ or Enrique Schondube, the business man who fixed up the bribes for the high officials concerned?
§ Mr. BevinI am sorry, I have never heard of him. It the Allied Control Council make representations to me I will certainly look into them.
