asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies why, and by whom, was publication prohibited in Palestine of the full text of the statement made in the House of Commons by the Lord President of the Council on 30th July last.

My hon. and gallant Friend is misinformed. Publication of the full text of the statement was not prohibited in Palestine.

Has the attention of my right hon. Friend been directed to the frequently reiterated statement that certain portions of this speech have been prohibited from publication in the Palestine Press?

Yes, Sir. Some misapprehension seems to have arisen. I think it was due to the fact that Reuter's message reproduced the statement with the omission of what they felt were the less significant passages.
