75. Mr. Ernest Davies

asked the Minister of Food when it is proposed to release the Lecture Hall, Chase Side, Enfield, which has been unoccupied and unused since October, 1945.

Dr. Summerskill

These premises will be released immediately. I understand that the owners have agreed to the part-time use of the Church hall for school meals.

Mr. Davies

As the release is now to take place, will my hon. Friend say why it could not have been done sooner, instead of leaving the premises empty for a year, and action being taken only after this Question was put down?

Dr. Summerskill

I cannot agree with my hon. Friend. The premises were needed for school meals, and have been used for that purpose.

Not since October last.
