§ 44. Mr. Wilkesasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the re-organisation and re-equipment of the Greek Army has now been completed by the British Military Mission.
§ Mr. WilkesIn view of the fact that the Foreign Secretary's Department on 10th August last issued a statement showing that 228 ex-members of the Quisling security battalions in Greece are now on active service as officers with the Greek Army—a number in excess of those who are ex-members of the Resistance—would not the Foreign Secretary consider making representations to the British Military Mission asking them to ensure a wider and fairer recruiting for the Greek Army, more in conformity with democratic principles?
