HC Deb 16 October 1946 vol 427 cc898-9
72. Major Guy Lloyd

asked the Minister of Food whether he is aware of the necessity for the establishment of sub food-offices in the Royal burgh of Renfrew, the burgh of Barrhead and in the populous centres of East Renfrewshire such as Newton Mearns and Giffnock; and what steps he proposes to take to meet this demand.

Dr. Summerskill

I can only confirm, as stated in correspondence with the hon. and gallant Member, that my right hon. Friend is not prepared to open sub-food offices at Renfrew, Barrhead and Newton Mearns. There is already such an office at Giffnock.
