§ 22. Mr. Skeffington-Lodgeasked the Minister of Health whether he has now considered the Report he called for regarding alternatives to the site originally chosen for the establishment of a sewage disposal farm for Goring in the vicinity of Hartslock Woods; and whether he will now make a statement indicating that the Thames amenities at this point are not to be disturbed.
§ Mr. BevanThe report submitted by the Henley Rural District Council shows that alternative sites are available for sewage disposal works for the parish of Goring. I have decided not to confirm the order for the compulsory purchase of the site originally proposed.
§ Mr. Skeffington-LodgeWhile I think it normally unwise to praise Ministers lest they become complacent, might I express my appreciation of the decision given in this case, and further express the hope that this may be used as a precedent for future action by the Minister in regard to other amenity questions?
