HC Deb 27 November 1946 vol 430 c1586
11. Mr. McKie

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether the former air-sea rescue base at Gibbhill, Kircudbright, will be derequisitioned in order that the premises may be utilised as an engineering factory.

Mr. de Freitas

We have already authorised derequisitioning of the site and are now negotiating with the owner about the disposal of the buildings.

Mr. McKie

Will the hon. Gentleman bear in mind the necessity of giving a decision on this matter as early as possible because a great contribution to production is being lost through the delay?

Mr. de Freitas

I will bear that in mind, but I am not sure that the delay is entirely on my side.
