HC Deb 27 November 1946 vol 430 cc1610-1
59. Lieut.-Commander Hutchison

asked the Minister of Food whether he is aware of the continued dissatisfaction felt by many consumers over their lack of freedom to change their milk retailer; and when he expects to receive a report on this matter from the working party set up to investigate the question of milk distribution.

Dr. Summerskill

I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for Hornsey (Mr. Gammans) on 18th November.

60. Lieut.-Commander Hutchison

asked the Minister of Food if he will give the names of the members of the working party which is investigating the question of milk distribution.

Dr. Summerskill

I announced the names of the members of the Committee on Milk Distribution in reply to a question by my hon. Friend the member for Spen Valley (Mr. Sharp) on 9th October, of which I am sending the hon. Member a copy. Since then, Mr. Wansbrough has unfortunately been compelled to resign because of pressure of other work.

Lieut.-Commander Hutchison

Has the working party met yet?

Dr. Summerskill

Yes, many times.
