§ Mr. LindgrenThe hon. Member is no doubt referring to the flying boat service on the "Horseshoe" route between Durban and Calcutta which calls at Cairo. The decision was made at the Southern Africa Air Transport Conference in 1945 that the flying boats, which had then been in service for nine and a half years, would be withdrawn at the 1590 end of 1946 and that the service between the United Kingdom and South Africa should be operated by landplanes.
§ Mr. Dodds-ParkerWhat action has been taken to safeguard the very important flying boat bases all the way down that route?
