§ 37. Mr. C. S. Taylorasked the Secretary of State for War in which age and service groups the demobilisation of telecommunication mechanics, R.E.M.E., has 1403 been deferred; how many personnel are involved; and how many of these are not at present employed in their correct trade.
§ Mr. BellengerOn 31st October a total of 51 other ranks of various trades in R.E.M.E. had their release deferred compulsorily. Their age and service groups ranged from 32 to 45 and I will circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT the numbers in each group. I regret that I cannot say to what trade in R.E.M.E. each of these men belong but I am satisfied that generally men who are deferred are not misemployed. If, however, the hon. Member has any particular case in mind I will gladly look into the matter.
