§ 32. Mr. Boyd-Carpenterasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether his attention has been drawn to a misprint in S.R.&O. 1673, of 1946, which purports to have been made by him on 9th October, 1946; how many copies of this Order have been printed and distributed; and whether he is satisfied that manuscript amendment of the printing error has been effected in respect of all copies issued.
§ Mr. ShinwellYes, Sir. 1,000 copies of this Order were printed, but I cannot say how many have been sold. I am informed that all copies have been corrected in manuscript by His Majesty's Stationery Office.
§ Sir J. MellorWas the copy which was laid before Parliament correct before it was laid?
§ Mr. ShinwellThe copy presented by my Department was in order, duly signed and with everything above board and 1199 everything constitutional, but, when it was printed, there happened to be a misprint, and it was left to the Stationery Office to decide whether it was correct to issue it.
§ Sir J. MellorI did not ask the Minister about the copy he signed. I asked him about the copy which was presented to Parliament.
§ Mr. ShinwellThere was a misprint in that copy not attributable to the Minister of Fuel and Power, but to the Stationery Office.
