HC Deb 28 May 1946 vol 423 c988
57. Colonel Crosthwaite-Eyre

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether any payment has been made by this country for the 200,000 tons of wheat recently surrendered and, if so, in what currency and to what amount; whether its re-allotment will entail any payment to this country and, if so, in what currency and to what amount; and if he will state the net gain or loss of dollar balances as a result of the transaction.

Mr. Dalton

No, Sir; we shall be purchasing less wheat, not surrendering wheat already purchased.
