§ 74. Sir W. Smithersasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will publish, as a White Paper, a full report of the facts and information concerning General Mihailovitch's trial and treatment, as received from officers of his Department or of the three services.
§ Sir W. SmithersIn view of the support given to the Allied cause by General Mihailovitch during the war, and of the substantial allegations made about the terrible hardships he has suffered, will not the Under-Secretary make these details public in the cause of humanity? Is it not the duty of the Government to do so?
Mr. McNeilFirstly, His Majesty's Government have no information about these allegations to which the hon. Member refers; secondly, there is no precedent for a White Paper of this kind; and, thirdly, the case is sub judice.
