HC Deb 27 May 1946 vol 423 cc804-5
16. Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

asked the Minister of Supply what is the present position of the supply of porcelain for electrical fittings required for the housing programme.

Mr. Wilmot

While there is still a general shortage of ceramics, supplies for the housing programmes are, I am glad to say, now improving.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

Does the answer of the right hon. Gentleman mean that there is a shortage or not?

Mr. Wilmot

I said that there is a general shortage of ceramics, but that the supply for the housing programme is improving. There is a shortage, which is being rapidly overtaken.
