HC Deb 12 March 1946 vol 420 cc958-9

Tenth Report from the Select Committee (with Memoranda relating to certain Orders), brought up, and read, as follows:

Your Committee have considered the. Distribution of Industry (Development Areas) Order, 1946 (S.R. & O., 1946, No. 197); a copy of which was presented on 20th February, the Purchase Tax (Exemptions) (No. 1) Order, 1946 (S.R. & O., 1946, No. 211), a copy of which was presented on 22nd, February, and the Drafts of the Department of Overseas Trade (Dissolution) Order, 1946, of the Ministry of War Transport (Dissolution) Order, 1946, and of the Ministry of Aircraft Production (Dissolution) Order, 1946, copies of which were presented on 7th March, and are of the opinion that there are no reasons for drawing the special attention of the House to them, on any of the grounds set out in the Order of Reference to the Committee.

They have also considered the Improvement of Livestock (Licensing of Bulls) (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations, 1946 (S.R. & O., 1946, No. 223), a copy of which was presented on 20th February, and are of the opinion that the special attention of the House should be drawn to it, on the ground that there appears to have been unjustifiable delay in the laying of it before Parliament.

They have also considered the Order, dated 1st February, 1946, amending the Food (Points Rationing) Order, 1945 (S.R. & O., 1946, No. 158) a copy of which was presented on nth February, and are of the opinion that the special attention of the House should be drawn to it on the ground that its purport calls for elucidation.

To lie upon the Table, and to be printed. [No. 97.]
