23. Major Lloydasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that Flight-Sergeant Pilot A. B. Coltant, who was released at the request of his Department in January in Class B, has not been found the employment for which release was granted, is not permitted to find himself a job, is without income or unemployment benefit and is not allowed to return to the R.A.F. until his Class A release is due; and if he will take steps to see that this man is found employment immediately.
§ Mr. IsaacsFlight-Sergeant Pilot Coltant elected to be released in Class B under the block scheme for work in connection with the housing programme is an electrical overhead linesman. His ex- 926 perience was found to be limited and he was not prepared to accept unskilled work. It was not, therefore, found possible to place him in work of national importance, and he was recommended for recall to the R.A.F. I understand that the Air Ministry have issued instructions for his recall.
