HC Deb 12 March 1946 vol 420 c946
51. Commander Noble

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will state the amounts which have been de ducted annually from the imperial contribution to the Northern Irish Treasury for the purpose of meeting liabilities resulting from the Northern Ireland Government's guarantees in respect of the borrowings of the Northern Ireland Road Transport Board in each year since 1938.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr. Dalton)

The loan raised by the Northern Ireland Government in 1939 to advance moneys to the Transport Board carries an annual sinking fund which is a charge on Northern Ireland revenue and is, therefore, taken into account in fixing the Imperial contribution The amount of the Sinking Fund began at £100,000 and rose to £128,000 last year.
